Current Miami-Dade Judicial Candidates in Contested Races

Each judicial office is assigned a judicial “group” number, and in contested elections voters can vote for one candidate in each group. (The “group” number is not the same as the ballot number the Miami-Dade Department of Elections assigns to each candidate on the ballot.) Dozens of circuit and county judges - all of whom serve six-year terms - were up for reelection in 2022, but the vast majority of them were elected without opposition. Additionally, one non-incumbent candidate was elected without opposition to County Court in a “group” that did not have an incumbent due to the incumbent’s retirement.

The following lists identify only candidates in contested races in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court and the Miami-Dade County Court. Real time information about the status of judicial races can be obtained here for circuit court elections and here for county court elections. Consistent with the rules governing judicial ethics, Judge Joe Perkins does not endorse any judicial candidate and cannot recommend any candidate to voters.
